Me: Drawing, chatting with friends in person and online, being outside doing activities like hunting, fishing, walking and bicycling, also I enjoy making costumes and cosplay them too!

It has been almost 2 weeks since A-Kon and where have I been?

I have a life and have been doing stuff other than drawing...

Why?

I'm in an art block right now

Anyways... about A-Kon.....

It was a ton of fun!!! Way better than last year!

The eeveelution group rocked! We owned the con!
We were stuck in group poses for around 10 minutes when there's like 10-15 people taking pictures of us, maybe more! Before moving on to the next location, people loved us!

And I got to meet many people from DA!

I got to meet who was cosplaying as Luigi! I was impressed that he knew a bit of sign language to communicate with me for a bit, but unfortunately I was very busy entertaining the crowd as Espeon, so I apologize to you, ~luigiwannabe for not hanging around much and chat with you

And there were also ,(Who cosplayed as Hinata that I picked up when hugging XD), , and who hung out with us and took pictures of our group cosplay!

We played around and interacted with each other and the onlookers while as the pokemon breeder, as Eevee gijinka, 's girlfriend as gym leader Gardenia and chats with the onlookers.

We cosplayed as the eeveelution group for only 2 hours on Friday and Saturday, well... except for Riley and Rek, AKA , who were Leafeon and Glaceon, those two went around in the con longer than the other 6 of us.

I've heard that, while we're heading back to our hotel room, that many people were searching all over the con for us! I can imagine them going-

"WHERE'S THE EEVEELUTION GROUP?!?!"
"WHERE ARE THEY!?!?!"

After changing out of our costumes, on both days, we would go for a swim to cool off and that was nice! Then we would spend the rest of those days taking pictures and window shopping in the Artist Alley and in the Dealers Room.

I got to see again and she remembers me from NDK! Funny that she thought I was at NDK with my "boyfriend" which I presume was , I pointed out that he was just a friend XD
And I also got to meet and his girlfriend Those two were awesome and friendly!!! I need to remember to commission `Endling when I get the chance!
And plenty of artists at Artist Alley who are members of DA too, even , and !
I even have a handful of business cards I snatched from some artists' tables that has their DA account names on em'
But I'm too lazy to go and get those cards and post all the names of those deviants, sorry

Plus I got to see a couple of times, even who cosplayed as Dorugamon and many, many other cosplayers! I also saw Totoro, the mushrooms and Green Power Ranger!
And I saw a baby hawk! No, seriously! It had a dead bird right next to it for dinner! [link]

Oh! And our eeveelution group entered the Hall Cosplay Contest and we won!!!

and if you checked Riley's photobucket album, you'll see the gang on the stage with the eeveelution costume partials, that's when they announced us as winners of the Hall Cosplay Contest!
Why didn't we wear the whole costumes at that time? We didn't want to sit in hot costumes, waiting for the whole costume contest and skits showing until our cue.

Sunday was the "free day" we didn't wear our costumes that day and just walked around, taking pictures and purchasing awesome stuff from both the Artist Alley and the Dealers Room. I keep thinking about how amusing it is that many people that are probably searching for our eeveelution group that day and the previous days, when we weren't in costumes, has no idea that it's us who were the cosplayers! It's like the members of the eeveelution group were practically right under their noses! We just look like typical people attending the con.

That afternoon, just for the heck of it, Riley and I dressed up in our Leafeon and Espeon partials and walked around for a bit, had people coming up to hug us and ask us about our costumes and all that. Riley and I even had a little play-battle but some random guy jumped into our fight with a foam sword and whacked me with it before bolting...

We didn't leave the con until around 9pm on Sunday, the whole area where the Artist Alley used to be was so empty! It was so strange that a few hours ago, it was full of artists selling prints and cosplayers and people in general! Now it looked like a wasteland, with trash here and there, and the tables all stacked up.

We, meaning Ani, AKA and Thrax, AKA , drove all night long, into the morning back to Colorado Spring when the rest of us lazy bums chatted our heads off and slept in the car. Didn't arrive until around 10:30am Monday morning.


I wish that anime conventions were more than 3 days! It would be nice if they were 5 or 6 days long but people might get bored with those cons by 3rd or 4th day...

My favorite moments at A-Kon other than being a part of the super-awesome Eeveelution group? Hanging out with Thrax and his girlfriend, Minnie, by walking around; taking midnight strolls in the quiet hotel when drinking Ramune; the elevator ride in the food court that goes all the way to 14th floor (only did that for a short time with Thrax and Minnie the first night at the hotel); and chasing Ani and Night, AKA through the hallways! I've never ran that fast or hard in a long time! But Night's still faster than me...

Least favorite moment- Going to bed at 1 then woke up at 4:30am Sunday morning for an evacuation because of a small electrical fire that caused a lot of smoke, we had to walk down 8 flights of stairs to get out of the building, only to come back in and go back to bed shortly after that. The whole time this happened, all I thought of was getting more sleep.

Well... that's the story of A-Kon! (Except for the beginning where we went to Ani's house and spent the whole night trying to finish the Eevee, Jolteon and Leafeon costumes until 3am and left to drive down to Dallas and arrive around 4-4:30pm and getting our badges)
